Venture capital, M&A and funding-related news

1. Swisspod Technologies, a Swiss-American startup developing Hyperloop, a very high-speed intracontinental transport solution with a neutral carbon footprint for passengers and cargo, is targeting €500K on SeedBlink (link).

2. Aqurate, an AI-powered SaaS platform that helps eCommerce companies use their data to grow, plans to raise up to €500K in funding, part of which will come through SeedBlink (link).

3. Goodlegal received a pre-seed investment of €1.2M from Earlybird Digital East Fund, which led the round, Credo Ventures together with Daniel Dines, and including the latest CEE VC fund, Underline Ventures (link).

4. Fagura, a fintech startup from the Republic of Moldova, which created a platform through which it offers loans but also the possibility to invest in these loans, announced the public launch of a new round of investments through the British online financing platform Seedrs.com. They are looking for a minimum amount of €500K investment (link).

5. Fortech, a fully Romanian company in the field of software services, was acquired by GlobalLogic, a company headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, a member of the Hitachi group and one of the most important players in the digital engineering segment (link).

6. The Romanian startup AIMinded, which developed a solution that uses artificial intelligence to automatically generate contours of organs at risk and tumors, has started a campaign on the crowdfunding platform Rōnin. The startup aims to obtain funding between €100K and €400K, to invest in the development of the technology and the team (link).

7. Romanian HR-tech startup Meta Education received a grant of €121K from Innovation Norway for the development of a coaching as a software solution, theCoRD.ai – the Coaching Results Driven AI (link).

8. AIMinded, a startup that helps treat cancer, won the grand prize of €15K in the MVP Ready category at the Future Makers event. AIMinded uses artificial intelligence to speed up cancer treatment in radiotherapy clinics (link).

9. SAS, one of the world’s largest companies in the analytics segment, opens registration for the 2023 edition of the SAS Hackathon (link). 

10. Romanian Tech Startups Association (ROTSA) in partnership with Techcelerator and ClujHub organizes between December 9-10 the fourth edition of EduHack, the largest formal and informal education hackathon in Romania. Registrations are open until December 7 (link).

11. Meta launches the Meta Boost program in Romania – a free and attractive online training hub dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises. The platform enables SMEs to learn, stay connected and progress (link).

12. Innovative startups and scaleups from Central & Eastern Europe can now apply to CEE Startup Challenge. It’s the biggest online competition for leading-edge startups and scaleups from the CEE region, organized by Vestbee, one of the leading European platforms for startups and VCs (link).

13. Three Romanian fintechs – Fagura, iFactor and Prime Dash – have been in London for the finale of UK Fintech Bootcamp 2022. Selected from over 100 applications from startups across Europe, they were part of final cohort of 16 companies from seven countries (link).

14. Theatrum.ro, the theater platform that brings together hundreds of artists, theaters and shows from all over the country, has launched its own mobile application, available on both Android and iOS operating systems (link).

15. Alexandru Dumitru, one of the founders of Clever Taxi, returns to the field of mobility applications with the first application that provides four payment methods. Smarty Ride Tech announces the official release of the Smarty App urban mobility app (link).

16. Former UiPath Global Legal Director Vasile Țiple has launched Goodlegal, a legal infrastructure platform designed to provide companies with an operations framework to achieve legal compliance by leveraging the latest technological advances and technology industry standards (link).

17. Adservio, Microsoft and Vodafone launched the partnership for the digitization of schools in Romania by integrating the Adservio electronic catalog with Microsoft 365 (link). 

18. Dan Berteanu launched Exit by Choice, a startup that prepares Romanian founders for successful exits. Dan is the first certified Romanian entrepreneur in the application of The Value Builder System methodology, internationally validated by 65,000 businesses and entrepreneurs (link).
